Digital Explorers // Female Track

2020-2021 // Nigeria

Digital Explorers is a knowledge exchange initiative between 2 buzzing ICT markets – Nigeria and Lithuania – striving to lead the ICT revolution in their respective parts of the world, and foreseeing further expansion for Baltic-African collaboration in Tech.

All-female edition. Our next journey aims to support women in tech and contribute to closing the global tech gender gap by offering tailored data analysis/ data science traineeships. In early 2021, up to 15 young Nigerian women will bring their eager minds to Lithuania for six-month placements at leading ICT companies and receive intensive targeted training to expand their skillsets.

Contribute to something bigger. By offering internship placements Lithuanian companies enter a community of like-minded, receive a chance to involve colleagues into a project that strives for social impact, and get hands-on experience of working alongside internationals.

As always mutual growth is at the heart of Digital Explorers:

Creating a match

  • Participants and companies are selected by a tailor-made recruitment programme based on analysis of market needs in Nigeria and Lithuania.
  • For selection of a new cohort, we partner with Data Science Nigeria, a leading African data science community and respected actor in the local ICT scene. Besides identifying candidates for the programme, we also provide training for aspiring data analysis / science professionals during Data Science Nigeria Bootcamp.

Helping the match to be perfect

  • Selected specialists will have entry-level data analysis / science competencies, ready to contribute to daily work of hosting companies on arrival, and receive training tailored to the needs of specific projects.
  • The programme stands by every participant, ensuring that careers are accelerated, and business horizons expanded.
  • We take care of the bureaucratic hassle, fully cover relocation and accommodation costs, while monthly stipendiums will be shared by the programme and host companies.

Making it easier to say goodbye

  • Back in Nigeria, a tailored assistance programme awaits and will help Digital  Explorers to quickly re-establish themselves and make the most out of skills gained and professional networks built in Lithuania.
